Occupational Health Research and the Problem of Back Pain

First, the epidemiology of commonly occurring back pain is reviewed; secondly, three methods of preventing back pain are outlined; thirdly, a statistical method of carrying out a clinical trial into the treatment of back pain is described; and finally, the areas where research is still needed to help us with the problem of occupational back pain are delineated.
