The Work of the Commission of the European Communities on Health and Safety

Health and Safety Directorate, Commission of the European Communities

The health and safety activities of the Commission of the European Community are described. Details are given of the bodies of the European Coal and Steel Communities relating to the Steel Industry and Mines Safety and Health and the research programmes are detailed. Reference is also made to the Euratom bodies and other committees. The objectives and guiding principles of an action programme on safety, hygiene and health protection are enumerated together with the actions envisaged to implement them.
