Risk of Isothiazolinones
John Player & Sons, Nottingham
The past 5 years has seen an increase in the awareness of problems connected with the growth of organisms in water cooling towers and air conditioning plants. To overcome these a wide variety of biocide formulations have been developed. Some of these biocide concentrates are highly irritant. Two incidents are reported in this paper of men accidentally exposed to concentrated biocides containing isothiazolinones.
