R. E. Lane

First Professor of Occupational Medicine at the University of Manchester

Professor Nicola Cherry has taken the Chair of Occupational Medicine at Manchester University. At a unique event on 28 February 1991, the three Emeritus Professors met Professor Cherry at a meeting held at the A.M.I. Alexandra Hospital, Cheadle, Manchester. The meeting organized by the North West Group of the SOM, included a tour of the hospital followed by a buffet supper. Professor Lane (now aged 94) introduced Professor Cherry who gave a talk on her first impressions on return from McGill University and her future objectives. Over 70 members of the SOM, BOHS and RCN Greater Manchester Group of OH nurses attended.
